Lee and Brenda ReeveWild about K-State: “I’m a K-Stater by choice,” said Brenda Reeve, a Fort Hays State University graduate. “I enjoy being around the exciting atmosphere at K-State. I love the progressiveness of the college in all areas, and I’m extremely impressed with everything offered to the students.”
Answering the call: When Pat Bosco, dean of student life at K-State, called to ask for Brenda and Lee Reeve’s help in establishing the Parents and Family Association (PFA) at K-State, the Reeves were more than happy to offer their time.
“Brenda and Lee are unselfish and very committed to helping be as responsive as possible to our students and their families,” Bosco said. “They make a difference at our school through their volunteer leadership, passion and focused energy. We are a better K-State family because of them.”
Membership: Parents and families of current K-State students are automatically members of PFA. Members receive benefits including access to the K-State Parents and Family Association hotline, Web site and e-mail address. In addition, members receive invitations to Family Day events and Open House.
Contributing members, however, receive additional benefits, including VIP invitations to receptions and banquets, a newsletter and an official K-State Parents and Family Fund Roots and Wings card.
Why PFA matters: Funded by member donations, PFA supports specific student-centered initiatives. These include student scholarships, an emergency fund for students in crisis, orientation and enrollment, K-State Legacy programs, alcohol-free programming for students at K-State After Hours and a campus safety awareness video.
