E. Walter Morrison was a highly respected leader in his church, his community and in the milling industry. A humble man of true pioneer spirit, he was known for his openness, sincerity and honesty in all respects. He fought hard, with all his strength and resources, for what he believed was right, refusing to give in until defeat was at hand.
Undaunted by the size or power of his opposition, he was able to achieve a number of objectives believed impossible by others. For his sincerity of purpose, his sense of justice, his faith and hard work and above all, his sense of justice, this award was established at his death. This award bearing his name is made to a person who has demonstrated these fine qualities in his own life.
