Dear Donor:
I just wanted to thank you so much for your scholarship donation. This will help me greatly to pay for my living expenses and classes this year. I am currently a senior in accounting, but I am working towards a minor in Spanish, a secondary major in American ethnic studies, a secondary major in international studies and a certificate in international business. I chose this major, along with my other concentrations, because I always saw myself as a business woman but also because of my love of different cultures and the Spanish language. I am hoping to combine my business degree with my more culturally centered studies in the future.
Currently, my GPA is a 3.758. I was out of the country studying abroad in Costa Rica for the past school year, so my GPA has not changed since last summer’s classes. Originally, I am from Junction City, Kan. I attended Junction City High School as did my older sister and will my younger brother. My father and my stepmother raised me and we have lived in Kansas my entire life.
As mentioned earlier, I had been in Costa Rica for the 2006-2007 school year. I am very close to being fluent in Spanish. I can speak as well as write and understand the language. My interest in the Spanish culture and in cultures in general, is what drives me to be a part of culturally centered activities, such as the Asian American Student Union. I am also planning to join the Multicultural Business Student Association. So far at Kansas State University, I have tried my hardest to do well in my classes as well as balance a part time job, sometimes two jobs. My sophomore year, I managed to receive a 4.0 with 19 credit hours. I study hard because I know if I work hard I will receive exactly what I deserve. Although my older sister attended Kansas State University in the past, she did not graduate. If I can make it through this next year and a half or so, I will be the first one to graduate from my family. Again, as a college student, I have so many expenses to pay for and every bit counts. Thank you so much again for your donation. I hope you understand what it means to me and my future.
Sincerely,
Ruth Kwak
