Dear Donor:

I want to thank you for the scholarship that you have given my family and me. I am from Grove, Okla., which is northeast of Tulsa. I attended Grove High School and later attended the United States Military Academy at West Point. I now live with my two boys Kaden, 6 years old, and Conner, 4 years old, who are the light of my life.

I have just recently resigned my commission as a captain in the United States Army. I have served in the field artillery for more than seven years at Fort Sill, Okla., and Fort Riley, Kan., and am now really looking forward to rounding out my past military career with a master’s in business administration from Kansas State University. I feel this step will better prepare me as a leader and better develop my skills for the corporate world. Making this decision was not easy, but I felt it was the best all-around choice for my family. Kansas State will offer me something that most universities cannot — a great place to raise my two boys, in addition to a quality, more affordable education.

After graduating from Kansas State, I will join the ranks in the civilian market and look for a career that will test my ability as a leader. I am truly excited about my next two years at KSU and look forward to the challenges that lie ahead.

Again, I would like to thank you for your contribution and let you know that this money will make things easier for my family throughout this next year. It was a great surprise to receive this scholarship. I am truly grateful. Thank you!
