Dear Land Grant Legacy Society,

 

Thank you so much for selecting me as the first-ever recipient of the outstanding $1,000 scholarship honoring the Land Grant Legacy Society members. This scholarship will not only ease the financial burden of my education, but also enable me to continue being involved in a wide array of extra curricular activities at Kansas State University.

I chose K-State for my undergraduate education because I knew it would be a university where I wouldn’t be just another number, it was a place where I could leave my legacy. K-State has opened the door for many opportunities including working with the KSU Foundation. Through this opportunity, I believe that I have achieved my goal.

As a 2009 co-chair for the K-State Proud Campaign, I was able to share my passion for philanthropy with other K-State students, and encourage them to give back by helping their fellow students. Now, as a communications writer for KSU Foundation, I am able to put my years of school into practice by writing feature stories, news releases and stewardship pieces for our very gracious donors. Working with alumni and friends who care so much about K-State only deepens my respect for our university.

I am truly honored to receive this scholarship.
