The Center for Leadership Studies and programs

The $10.5 million Center for Leadership Studies and Programs will provide a unique learning community where students not only engage in rich and spirited dialogue about known truths but also pursue the discovery of their own truths. Students will be welcomed into a multicultural and inclusive community that honors each of them by valuing and promoting their individual leadership development.

The three-story building will reflect the values of K-State and Leadership Studies and Programs. Upon entering, students will learn the value of reflection as well as action. The design of the building will include spaces specifically structured for study and reflection. In common areas like the student lounge, the unique learning environment nurtured by Leadership Studies and Programs will come alive with discussion and action. There, faculty and students will enjoy ongoing discussions of leadership topics, and students will find the space they need to work together on group projects

The Center for Leadership Studies and Programs will be accessible to all students. The planned site on Old Claflin Road will provide easy access for students living both on and off campus. This location also will be convenient and easily accessible for prospective students and their parents as they explore K-State and consider the study of leadership. A hallmark of K-State’s recruitment strategy is to showcase Leadership Studies as a premier national program.

The new building will span more than 31,000 square feet and include the following rooms:

Mid-size classrooms

Work center for student ambassadors

Student lounge and project area

Academic advising center

Conference room

Leadership resource library and study center

Visiting scholar and business executive offices
