Student Opportunity Awards
Student Foundation allocates Student Opportunity Awards (SOAs) to K-State students. All SOA funds are raised through the K-State Proud student campaign. Since its beginning, more than $600,000 and 426 awards have been given to students in extreme financial need. Read about some of our past recipients.
Student Opportunity Award
Student opportunity awards are allocated by a student allocations committee in consultation with the Office of Student Financial Assistance to provide financial assistance for students who have demonstrated extreme financial need or those who need temporary financial assistance. Special consideration will be given to students whose future at K-State may be in jeopardy and to students who have exhausted all other forms of financial assistance. Students and faculty members are encouraged to nominate students in need or students may nominate themselves. Applications are received online on a continuing basis and awards are allocated year round.
*Please note: Throughout the summer, applications will be reviewed on the first Monday of the month. These dates will be June 1, July 6, and August 3. All applications must be submitted to SOA@found.ksu.edu throughout the summer months.
