You may obtain a KSU ID card from the ID Center located in the K-State Student Union. A copy of your appointment paper must be presented. No fee is assessed for the card. A $15.00 fee is assessed for replacement.
The Adult Fitness Program, sponsored by the Department of Kinesiology, offers a variety of opportunities to encourage and enhance employees' personal fitness level. Various exercise classes; indoor running track, gymnasium and weight rooms are available for employees' participation. In addition to structured and non-structured activities, the Adult Fitness Program offers fitness testing services and evaluations to include body composition, basal metabolic rate, weight control counseling and exercise consultation.
The following departments in the College of Agriculture offer various items for sale on campus. The prices of goods are competitive with those at local retail establishments and the products are of high quality. Please contact the department individually for hours of operation.
Recreational Services offers numerous recreational sports and fitness programs to the university community and foundation employees. Employee's KSU ID card enables them to purchase a facility use card for use of the Natatorium or the Chester E. Peters Recreation Complex. The Chester E. Peters Recreation Complex includes courts for racquetball/handball, squash and wallyball; multi-purpose courts for basketball, volleyball, badminton and tennis; a weight room with free weights and machines; a walking/running track; a fitness room with a variety of cardiovascular exercycles, rowing machines and treadmills; and saunas in the locker rooms.
The L.P. Washburn Recreation Area features outdoor facilities, including 20 acres of field space, tennis courts, handball/racquetball courts, a basketball court, and a fitness cluster with jogging paths. The Natatorium, located at the Ahearn Complex, features an eight-lane lap pool, a six-lane recreational pool, a diving well and offers aqua fitness sessions. Recreational Services also offers aerobic exercise sessions, fitness and nutrition counseling, equipment checkout, as well as outdoor camping equipment rental.
Season tickets and special faculty/staff rates are available to employees for intercollegiate athletic home games to include K-State football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, etc. For further information regarding scheduled games and available tickets, contact the Bramlage Coliseum Ticket Office at 785-532-7606 or 1-800-221-CATS.
Employees are invited to make use of the university libraries. With a KSU ID, current and retired employees have access to the resources and facilities at Hale Library and the branch libraries located within the various colleges.
The Kansas State University Federal Credit Union is operated as a non-profit organization for the benefit of the employees at Kansas State University (including local agencies). Foundation employees are eligible to join the KSU Federal Credit Union. Employees must join the KSU Federal Credit Union in order to participate in the opportunities offered, such as loans and savings. The KSU Child Development Center supports the K-State community (students, faculty, staff and alumni) by providing quality care and learning experiences for young children. The center currently offers five different, developmentally-designed programs to meet the needs of children from 12 months to six years of age. Continuity and quality of care is assured in each program by a consistent caregiver or teacher, well-planned curricula, explicit expectations for the program operation and full licensing through the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The atmosphere of the Center helps children develop a sense of self-worth and is multi-cultural and non-sexist. In order to park in the Foundation Center parking lot or on campus, all regular full-time and half-time employees must have a KSU faculty/staff parking permit. Employees must register their vehicles with the foundation's human resources department and KSU Parking Services to obtain a parking permit. The foundation will pay for the parking permit on an annual basis. The KSU faculty/staff parking permit is the property of the foundation and must be returned upon resignation or termination. If the permit is lost or stolen, replacement costs are the responsibility of the employee.
The K-State Student Union is the hub of campus activity. Included within its 247,000 square feet are many services and accommodations. The Union houses a copy center, various meeting and theater spaces, computer store, book store, recreational facilities, banking services, ID center, extensive dining and other food services and a hair salon.
