The College of Arts and Sciences is the academic heart of Kansas State University. The curriculum spans the arts, humanities, and the social, natural and mathematical sciences. Students from all disciplines take classes in this college, benefiting from an education that teaches them to think, question, reason, communicate and comprehend challenging subject areas.
We are proud of our outstanding alumni, students and faculty who make significant contributions to their areas of study.
Both the public and private sectors need employees who are able to think creatively, communicate effectively, and know what questions to ask and how to find the answers. The College of Arts and Sciences develops and nurtures those skills. Upon graduation, employers receive the benefit of well-rounded individuals who are able to function on a team and think broadly. Society gains an educated, engaged and articulate citizenry.
For the common welfare of the university and the students and nation it serves, we must continue to strengthen the academic heart of K-State - the College of Arts and Sciences. The financial support of alumni, friends, corporations and charitable foundations is crucial to the college's continued success.
We can establish resources that make a quality education affordable to students and their families. We can attract and retain the state’s most talented students.
We can create opportunities to attract bright new faculty and retain and reward existing faculty. College faculty members excel in areas ranging from research in the natural sciences, to the creative explorations of the fine and performing arts, to the analysis and insight plumbed by the social sciences and the humanities.
We can create a campus environment that fosters lively intellectual and social interactions. Current technology and quality facilities are essential to promote student and faculty excellence.
We can create endowed resources that will allow the college to enhance teaching and research opportunities at K-State. We can recognize worthy students and faculty, helping to recruit and retain the best and the brightest, including those of diverse backgrounds and with special talents who contribute immensely to the academic environment of the college. We can promote excellence through visiting scholars, lecturers and speakers — allowing students and faculty to interact with the best the world has to offer. We can provide students the best quality education and promote increased knowledge through research to better serve our state and nation.
Make annual contributions to the college or to your department. Gifts of all sizes are crucial to the future success of the College of Arts and Sciences.
Endow a fund for the college or a department for scholarships, faculty or continued excellence by making a gift of cash, appreciated securities or real estate.
Provide for yourself, your children and the college through a planned gift: a bequest, gift of life insurance, charitable gift annuity or charitable remainder trust. These giving vehicles may assist you and your heirs while benefiting K-State.
Give items needed by the college — computers, laboratory equipment and more — to support student learning and faculty research.
Since 1863, K-State has graduated young men and women who are well-prepared for fulfilling lives and meaningful careers. They have honed their abilities to write, think critically, solve problems and work collaboratively. We are proud of our educational tradition that has served the state of Kansas and our nation well for more than 140 years.
But we must do more. With your help, we will guarantee the college’s effect on the search to better understand our world and beyond. Please help us help students and faculty scholars continue to strive for excellence. You can make a difference!
