1863 Circle frequently asked questions

How does the 1863 Circle benefit K-State?

Annual philanthropic support from members of the 1863 Circle helps to ensure the university’s vibrant future. Your gift provides K-State students, faculty and staff with essential resources to succeed, which will lead to the success of the entire university. The power of collective giving continuously advances K-State in many ways.

What is my role as a member of the 1863 Circle?

As an 1863 Circle member, you have shown tremendous philanthropic leadership that continually advances our university to a position of national prominence. Your gifts provide financial support for students, vastly improve student life, create cutting-edge research opportunities and bring the best faculty to our campus.

We ask that you continue leading the way by sharing the impact philanthropy can have on higher education, connecting with us and other K-Staters to grow our family of donors, and renewing your annual gift so K-State can continue to make a difference in students’ lives.

What are the benefits to being an 1863 Circle member?

  • Invitations to 1863 Circle gatherings, where you can interact with fellow alumni, K-State leaders, and current students.

How do I join the 1863 Circle?

You automatically become a member of the 1863 Circle each year that your giving total equals $1,000 or more. You can make a single gift of $1,000 or several gifts throughout the year to reach $1,000 in giving. Giving totals are counted based on the fiscal year (July 1–June 30).

Do I have to give to a particular fund?

You may give to any K-State fund you wish. You may support an academic program, student life, athletics or any K-State area you care about. The choice is yours!

How can I find out my giving total for this year?

There are two ways to check your giving total. You may view your giving history here through our secure portal. Because you are accessing your private giving history, you must sign in with a user name and password. If you would like to learn about your giving total by phone, please contact our stewardship department at 800-432-1578.

Can I make a gift online?

Yes.  You may give online here. There is an option to set up your gift on a recurring basis, which allows you the opportunity to set up your gifts for the full year along with auto-payments.

Why should I meet with a KSU Foundation representative?

The KSU Foundation is a great link to share updates from campus, help establish your philanthropic goals and discuss areas of giving that you care about most.
